Best Jump Shot Animations in NBA 2K23

Final Thoughts

Whether you just made a player in NBA 2K23 MyCAREER or are well into playing with a build you made a while ago, you might want to tweak a few things about the animations your player has. This could be anything from how he dribbles, to how he passes, to a handful of other animations.

But one of the most important aspects you might be working on or playing around with, is that of your players jump shot and how it suits your feel for scoring the ball. Finding a motion that you’re comfortable with is key, because the more you use it, the more accustomed you’ll get to it, allowing you to deliver the dagger jump shots you’re after.

Some NBA 2K23 fans like to create their jump shots from scratch, selecting the base, the releases, and all the other details that come with that process. Others though simply like to use a current or former players jump shot animation that can allow them to find the instant success they’re after.

In this feature, we’re going to list our best player jump shot animations that you can use in NBA 2K23 MyCAREER based on a specific criteria listed down below. So without another moment to spare, let’s get right to it and see which player jump shot animations are best.

Best Jump Shot Animations in NBA 2K23

NBA 2K23 Best Jump Shot Animations (1)

When determining which jump shot animations are best to use, the criteria will be based on four factors that NBA 2K23 highlights with each player’s jump shot. Here are the four points that will be used for each players jump shot rank:

  • Release Speed
  • Release Height
  • Timing Impact
  • Defensive Immunity

In NBA 2K23, each of these four factors receive a specific letter grade for every player jump shot. Depending on how many positive grades each jump shot has, the better that jump shot will be for you.

For those of you looking to build your jump shots, this is still important to know because chances are, you’ll be using a shot base that belongs to a former or current NBA player.

In addition, it’s vital to keep in mind that these jump shot animations do come with maximum or minimum height requirements (or both). If you don’t meet the height requirements, you won’t be able to unlock or use that jump shot animation.

As a result, we’ve decided to list three player jump shots from each position set (guards, forwards, and centers) that we think are the best to use in the game.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at the best jump shot animations you can equip in NBA 2K23 MyCAREER.

Guards

1. Darius Garland

If you like a very quick release that comes along with a silky smoothness to your jump shot, Garland’s happens to be the best just for that. Because Garland’s jump shot is so quick, you don’t need to create a whole lot of space to snipe a shot in your defenders face. The only downside with his shot is the release height.

The requirements to unlock this jump shot are the following: Your player’s height has to be under 6’5″ and you need to have a mid-range shot or three-point shot that has an 85+ rating.

  • Release Speed: A+
  • Release Height: D-
  • Timing Impact: A
  • Defensive Immunity: A+

2. Kobe Bryant

The Black Mamba had one of the sweetest strokes in the game and is an easy one to get accustomed to. It’s really well balanced and delivers big time on defensive immunity and timing impact.

Here are the requirements for Kobe’s jumper: Your player’s height has to be at least 6’5″ and under 6’10”. And you need to have a mid-range shot or three-point shot that has an 88+ rating.

  • Release Speed: A-
  • Release Height: A-
  • Timing Impact: A
  • Defensive Immunity: A+

3. Stephen Curry

From its fluidity to its quickness, Curry’s shot is one of the best if you are trying to maximize your perimeter and mid-range shooting, and as a guard, you probably will. The only downside is the release height, but that gets made up for with the speed of the shot.

These are the requirements for Curry’s jumper: Your player’s height has to be under 6’5″. But your mid-range shot or three-point shot has to have a 91+ rating.

  • Release Speed: A
  • Release Height: B+
  • Timing Impact: A
  • Defensive Immunity: A+

Forwards

1. Scottie Pippen

In my opinion, Pippen has the sweetest stroke amongst all forwards in the game. His release height and speed make his shots one of the smoothest and his lower timing impact really doesn’t have much of a hindrance towards your shot success.

The following requirements will have to be met in order for you to unlock Pippen’s jump shot: Your player’s height has to be at least 6’5″ and under 6’10”. And your mid-range shot or three-point shot has to have a 85+ rating.

  • Release Speed: A-
  • Release Height: A
  • Timing Impact: B
  • Defensive Immunity: A

2. Kawhi Leonard

If you’re looking for an effective and lethal jumper, Leonard’s shot will be a great fit for you. It comes with a release speed that’s not too slow nor too quick and comes with excellent timing impact. The only downside is the release height of his shot, but he more than makes up for that with his shot speed.

These are the requirements for Leonard’s jumper: Your player’s height has to be at least 6’5″ and under 6’10”. And your mid-range shot or three-point shot has to have a 85+ rating.

  • Release Speed: B
  • Release Height: C+
  • Timing Impact: A+
  • Defensive Immunity: A

3. Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant’s jump shot is pure and very smooth. The motion is straightforward, and because the release is so high, it comes with great defensive immunity. That said, his release speed is pretty cumbersome. If you have a heavy touch when shooting, Durant’s stroke will suit you well.

Here are the requirements for Durant’s jumper: Your player’s height has to be at least 6’5″ and your mid-range shot or three-point shot has to have a 85+ rating.

  • Release Speed: C-
  • Release Height: B+
  • Timing Impact: A
  • Defensive Immunity: A+

Centers

1. Chris Bosh

The Chris Bosh jump shot is a thing of beauty. If you want a great combination of release height, timing impact, and defensive immunity, the Bosh jump shot animation would suit you best.

The requirements for this animation are the following: Your player’s height has to be at least 6’10” and you need to have a mid-range shot or three-point shot that has an 84+ rating.

  • Release Speed: B-
  • Release Height: A-
  • Timing Impact: A-
  • Defensive Immunity: A+

2. Tim Duncan

The Hall Of Fame center Tim Duncan has a short, compact jump shot that is great to use around the post and from mid-range. However, Duncan’s shot does lack some speed and his release height isn’t ideal, which is why he falls to second on this list.

These are the requirements you’ll need to match in order to use Duncan’s jump shot animation: Your player’s height has to be at least 6’10” and you need to have a mid-range shot or three-point shot that has an 82+ rating.

  • Release Speed: C+
  • Release Height: C+
  • Timing Impact: A+
  • Defensive Immunity: A-

3. Nikola Jokić

The two-time NBA MVP has a really sweet stroke. Though it’s not very quick, the height and fluidity of his jump shot is really clean and will do wonders for you inside and outside of the three-point line.

These are the requirements you’ll need to meet to unlock Jokić’s jump shot animation: Your player’s height has to be at least 6’10” and you need to have a mid-range shot or three-point shot that has an 82+ rating.

  • Release Speed: D+
  • Release Height: C+
  • Timing Impact: A+
  • Defensive Immunity: A

Final Thoughts

When all is said and done, determining which jump shot fits your play best is something that is subjective to the user and what they like and are looking for. Some of you might not want a well-balanced shot, or maybe prefer a lot more speed rather than defensive immunity or vice versa.

The point of the matter is that you have to experiment with what works well for you, and once you do, you’ll have a great idea of what suits you best. For example, my player’s jump shot is Bradley Beal’s, which has a C timing impact grade and a D- release speed. But it works for me and that’s what matters.
